Rose-Anna Hyde

Audio Maker and Producer

All I've ever wanted is to vibrate through empty space
And nudge our heartbeats into sync

Hi! I'm Rose-Anna, a freelance audio maker and multidisciplinary producer. After working as an event producer for over 12 years, I trained in audio production via the Multitrack Fellowship Scheme 2024. This led me to my first ever commission - 'Two Faced' - for BBC Sounds, in 2025.I do my best to lead with my heart and my values. I am a deep thinker, who is fascinated by psychology, sociology, mythology, mysticism and folklore. I'm a rabbit hole dweller - these days, usually burrowing into the ancient Ogham tree system, herbalism, animism, somatic voice thera... (I'll stop there before I fall down a hole). As someone with a complicated medical history, I am particularly interested in the muddy (and often murky) spaces between medical and mystical.I want to make work that brings inner and collective shifts around healing, solace and solidarity.I am currently based in London and am available for freelance work in:- Audio producing, editing and sound design
- Production and project management
- Event planning and production
- Collaborative art and research
If you'd like to work together, please drop me a message!

Work

Multitrack FellowshipThe Multitrack Fellowship is an entry-level paid programme in audio production, which I was selected for in 2024. This involved weekly training sessions and a placement at a production company - in my case, Peanut & Crumb.Working for Peanut & Crumb, I supported across many projects including QEP Create the Future (several episodes), Target Girls (BBC R4), Steel from Ships (BBC R4), Paul Simon’s Political Storm (BBC R4), Sleep Tracks (BBC R3).I also produced a full episode of the Create the Future podcast, called The Future of 3D Printing Assistive Devices. The Multitrack process has been invaluable. They are a collective of infinitely sound and talented humans. Please check out their website and work! You can also listen to other Multitrack producers' work here.As part of the programme, we also took part in a 6 month Mentorship scheme. I am very grateful to my mentor Christina Hardinge, who mentored me with thoughtful sensitivity and dedicated creativity.

BBC Sounds Audiolabs: Two FacedAt the end of the Multitrack placement, there was an opportunity to pitch for BBC Multitrack commissions, and I was lucky to be awarded one for BBC Sounds. The making of this programme was hugely personal and cathartic. My aim was to spread awareness about Topical Steroid Withdrawal - a life-changing skin condition which occurs from the use of topical steroid creams, and to give a voice to the (often unheard and gaslit) TSW community. I also experimented with interviewing via Whatsapp voicenotes (hoping it could make contributors feel more at ease), and with making my own vocal loop music for the programme. This programme was produced by Reform Radio - a production company based in Manchester. They provided generous support and guidance through the process.

EventsSome recent event work includes:
- CoSTAR National Lab research retreat - The Future of Live Music:
I co-ordinated a two day residential workshop on the future of the live music industry for CoSTAR, the UK’s first R&D network for the creative industries.
We brought together a cross section of artists, venue owners and creative tech innovators from across the music industry, to collaborate and workshop with a team of academics from CoSTAR.
- Created and managed an event budget & timeline
- Managed all guest communications, travel and accommodation
- Managed all event logistics and venue liaison
- Booked local musicians and decor
- Live event management
- Bearded Kitten: I freelance regularly with this group of lovely humans/kittens. I worked as a Senior Producer for them for many years, producing corporate retreats, UK touring experiences and occasionally running stages in muddy festival fields.
- EventWell: EventWell host sensory spaces at festivals and exhibition events - quiet areas carefully designed to give people downtime in overstimulating environments. We're trained in Safeguarding and Mental Health First Aid (I'm also Emergency First Aid trained)
- Leyton Midland Collective: I volunteer with this local collective, who founded Leyton Arts Festival, Harvest Community Feast and are working hard to re-open Leyton's Brooks Farm. Check them out!
